APCO Quarterly Meeting

Meeting was called to order by President Jo
Tranter
Invocation was given by Roger Humphrey, President Alabama
NENA
Jo welcomed everyone and recognized guests and advised
she hoped everyone was enjoying the conference
Sec/Tres Cheryl Robinson presented the minutes of February
24, 2004 meeting. Roger Humphrey made a motion to accept and this was seconded
by Pat Hall and carried by the Board.
Cheryl Robinson presented the financial report. Pat Hall made a motion to accept as given, this was seconded by Roger Humphrey and carried by the Board.
Jo then called for Committee Reports:
Executive Council: Pat Hall gave update on brick walk and will have more
information at next meeting
Minimum Standards: Pat Hall still working with NENA on
finding funding for this project. Have been advised that the political climate
was not right at this time, will put any updates on web site.
Historical: Sharon
Carroll advised nothing new at this time
Training: Marsha
Jones advised nothing new, please post any training on the web site.
APCO is trying to find
regional training sites for Public Safety Telecommunication training. Pat will
keep us updated.
Membership: Helen Smith advised two new members were accrued
from the conference.
Frequency:
John Wyckoff advised Eric Lindsey has been appointed for the chair of the 700 frequency; John Wyckoff will be the second
chair. Eric has a good supporter thru the Mobile Department
Newsletter/Web Site: Everyone advised Gina what an excellent job she and Greg were going. Please send anything you have to be posted to them.
Area Representatives: Please work your areas and let’s see if we can’t get more people involved.
Conference Report: Jo Tranter
recognized the conference committee for this year’s conference:
Gina Bowman, Helen Smith, Becky Neugent, Marsha Jones, Holly
Jinks, Pat Hall, Sherry Fincher and Cheryl Robinson.
Jo thanked everyone for a job well done.
Old Business:
Donation to Heritage Foundation: Pat advised we would hold off until next
meeting.
New Business:
The following officers were sworn in by Jo Tranter:

And accepted unanimously by the Board.
At this time President Gina Bowman
took over her duties as president.
Gina advised she will let us know as soon as possible
about next year’s conference. We will try to move conference back to April.
