Meth Class conducted by Chief Deputy Shane Mayfield, Chilton County Sheriff's
Office
The cost of the class is $50.00, which includes lunch. The
class will be from 8am to 12pm, the business meeting will be held during lunch.
Chief Deputy Mayfield was born and raised in Chilton County Alabama.
He attended the University of Alabama from 1989 to 1993 and graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He was an
Honor Graduate of the 105th session of the University of Alabama Law Enforcement Academy in June of 1992.
Chief Deputy Mayfield began his law enforcement career with the City of Millbrook in 1994 as a Police Officer.
He promoted through the ranks to Lieutenant supervising the Patrol Division. He was assigned approximately 2
years to the Central Alabama Drug Task Force as a Drug Investigation and Drug Related Violent Crimes Investigator. In
January 1999 he accepted the position of Assistant Chief Deputy with the Chiltron County Sheriff's Office supervising
the Investigative Division, which includes drug enforcement. He was promoted to Chief Deputy in 2001. Chief Deputy
Mayfield attended the first APOSTTC sponsored Clandestine Lab Tachnician Class in November of 2001 and he has investigated
hundreds of methamphetamine labs in Chilton and surrounding counties. Chief Deputy Mayfield was one of the founding
members of the Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit and Commanded the Unit for 6 years. The team has won First Place
in the Alabama Tactical Officer's Association Tactical Team Tournament in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The team has also competed
in two World SWAT competitions placing 16th in the world in 2007. He is a Law Enforcement firearms instructor
in numerous disciplines and he is also an instructor in Patrol Response to Active Shooters. Chief Deputy Mayfield feels
very strongly about not only the issues that face our profession today but our responsibility and our duty to our children
to be prepared as well and looks forward to sharing those ideas during the class.

From Atlanta
on I85: You will need to exit S. Union St. (Exit 1), at the bottom of
the exit ramp you will turn right onto S. Union St. Follow S. Union St. to Madison Ave.
and take a right on to Madison Ave. At the first red light take a left onto N. Ripley St. Go
straight on N. Ripley St. through 3 red lights then the next street to the right will be Communications Pkwy., turn right
and go past the K-9 facility to the top of the hill. Come to the front door.
From 231 South: Turn right on Taylor Rd. Go to I85 and take the Downtown ramp and follow the above directions.
From I65 South: Come into Montgomery
and take the Herron St. Exit. Turn right on Herron St. (Herron St. turns into Bibb St. and then Bibb
St. turns into Madison Ave.) Take a left onto N. Ripley St. Go straight on N. Ripley St. through 3 red lights then the next street to the right
will be Communications Pkwy., turn right and go past the K-9 facility to the top of the hill.
Come to the front door.
From I65 North: Take the Clay St. Exit, go straight through the red light and take the next left onto
