August 2010

I hope everyone has had a fun summer.  I know you are ready for Fall and football season to begin!

I want to thank everyone who attended the conference in Montgomery this year as well as our Quarterly Training and Business Meeting last week.  I hope you benefited as I did from the training sessions and the networking with colleagues and vendors.  All of our quarterly trainings and conferences are done with you in mind and would not be possible without participation from yourselves and especially from our vendors.

I am honored to be serving you all in the capacity of President this year and look forward to getting to know more of you as the year progresses.  I encourage each of you to attend the Quarterly Training and Meeting this November and February 2011.  Also, mark your calendars for the 2011 Annual Conference to be held in Florence at the Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa from April 17- April 20.  We are working hard to bring some excellent training to the conference and hope you will be there to take advantage of it.  Also, while in the Shoals area, I hope you will take some of your time and see what the area has to offer.  The Shoals is home to Helen Keller birthplace “Ivy Green”, jazz legend W.C. Handy Home & Museum, and the Frank Lloyd Wright designed house, the Rosenbaum home.  We also have many gorgeous parks and a thriving retail area. And, for you golfers, we have the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals.

If there is anything specific you would like to see in the training offered or any ideas you have, please feel free to contact myself or any officer of your Alabama Chapter of APCO.  We would love your input and feedback on what you think would help make our organization stronger and grow numerically.  Your participation is crucial to the continued success of Alabama APCO.

Again, thank you for allowing me to serve you this year.  It is a privilege to be part of such a close-knit group of special men and women who have dedicated their lives and careers to helping others.

Warmest Regards,

Amanda White, President
